Eastern Region Receives Electoral Materials for Dec.7 Polls

 Discretionary materials for the lead of the December 7 official and parliamentary races in the Eastern Region showed up in Koforidua Saturday night. 
The materials have been kept at the Regional Police Headquarters anticipating arranging by the ideological groups Sunday morning. 

Mrs. Jean Mensa, the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission on Friday, November 20, 2020, said a sum of 74,800 Biometric Verification Devices (BVDs) have been arranged and appropriated to the regions the nation over for the December 7 decisions. 

As per her, the official polling form papers have been appropriated cross country while the parliamentary voting form papers are as yet being dispersed. 

He noticed that more than 38,000 surveying stations will be utilized by the Commission for the 2020 surveys. 

Ghana will hold official and parliamentary races on Dec. 7 to choose a president and 275 lawmakers. 

On the whole, 12 applicants including a free Candidate have been endorsed by the EC to challenge in the official political race. 

The official challenge will acutely be run between occupant President and New Patriotic Party up-and-comer Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and previous President and National Democratic Congress' John Dramani Mahama. 

This is the third time the two political adversaries will challenge the official political race. 

Mahama won in 2012, while Akufo-Addo crushed him in the 2016 surveys.
